Solving Comfort & Efficiency Challenges in Metal Buildings
Metal buildings face unique insulation challenges that make them harder to heat, cool, and protect. Spray foam insulation creates a seamless thermal envelope that reduces energy loss, controls indoor temperatures, and prevents condensation.
Common Energy Loss Issues
Metal transfers heat and cold much faster than traditional construction, forcing HVAC systems to work harder and increasing utility costs.
- Thermal bridging through framing members
- Air leaks around doors, windows, and seams
- Heat gain through uninsulated roof panels
Spray foam seals air leaks while insulating, creating an airtight barrier that improves efficiency and reduces thermal bridging.
Temperature Fluctuation Problems
Without proper insulation, metal buildings can experience temperature swings of 20–30°F or more, making workspaces uncomfortable and increasing HVAC demand.
Spray foam applied beneath the roof deck blocks radiant heat and helps maintain stable indoor temperatures throughout the day.
The result is improved comfort, lower energy bills, and less wear on HVAC equipment.
Moisture & Condensation Control
Humid air condensing on cool metal surfaces can lead to rust, mold, damaged inventory, and structural deterioration.
Closed-cell spray foam bonds directly to metal panels, blocking moisture before condensation can develop.
Ideal Applications
- Warehouses
- Agricultural Buildings
- Manufacturing Facilities
- Workshops & Storage Buildings
Comprehensive Spray Foam Insulation Solutions
Infinity Spray Foam installs premium closed-cell spray foam throughout metal buildings, creating a complete insulation system that improves energy efficiency, prevents condensation, and delivers year-round comfort.
Wall & Roof Applications
Closed-cell spray foam is applied directly to metal walls, roof panels, purlins, and girts to create a seamless thermal and moisture barrier. This reduces radiant heat transfer, improves energy efficiency, and protects the building from condensation.
Interior Partition Insulation
We insulate partition walls to create separate climate-controlled spaces, reduce sound transmission, and increase the rigidity of lightweight steel framing throughout commercial buildings.
Retrofitting Existing Structures
Upgrade older metal buildings with spray foam insulation without a complete tear-out in most cases. We replace deteriorated fiberglass, insulate unfinished buildings, and seal air leaks around penetrations, doors, and HVAC openings.
Key Benefits for Metal Building Owners
Spray foam insulation solves multiple problems with one application—improving energy efficiency, maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures, reducing unwanted noise, and lowering long-term operating costs.
Protect your investment while improving comfort and reducing operating expenses for decades.
Improved Energy Efficiency
Closed-cell spray foam creates an airtight thermal barrier directly against metal surfaces, reducing heat transfer and eliminating the gaps left by traditional insulation. This allows HVAC systems to operate more efficiently while lowering monthly utility costs.
Enhanced Indoor Comfort
Spray foam keeps temperatures more consistent while preventing condensation that can lead to moisture damage, rust, and mold.
Noise Reduction
Spray foam dampens sound transmission through metal walls and roof panels, helping create quieter work environments and reducing disruptive exterior noise.
Long-Term Cost Savings
Spray foam lasts for decades, requires very little maintenance, and eliminates the need for separate vapor barriers and air sealing products.
| Cost Factor | Traditional | Spray Foam |
|---|---|---|
| Lifespan | 15–25 Years | 30+ Years |
| Air Sealing Included | No | Yes |
| Vapor Barrier Needed | Often Yes | No |
| Maintenance | Periodic | Minimal |
Lower utility bills, reduced HVAC wear, and fewer moisture-related repairs provide an excellent return on investment throughout the life of your metal building.
Potential Risks of Poor or Missing Insulation
Cutting corners on insulation doesn’t just reduce comfort—it increases operating costs, accelerates building deterioration, and impacts productivity for years to come.
Increased Maintenance Costs
Poor insulation results in higher utility bills, increased HVAC wear, pest intrusion, and recurring moisture-related maintenance expenses that continue to grow over time.
Structural Moisture Damage
Condensation accelerates rust, corrodes fasteners, damages wall panels, and creates conditions where mold can develop, leading to expensive structural repairs.
Productivity & Equipment Loss
Extreme indoor temperatures reduce employee productivity, increase equipment downtime, shorten machinery lifespan, and can damage valuable inventory and stored materials.

Julio (Infinity) went above & beyond my expectations with blown-in insulation. Believe it or not, during his onsite estimate, he identified several other AC/heat concerns, including leaks and unraveling tape, both related to the crappy 2020 installation of a new $8300 AC (which never cooled below 79 & ran constantly). I've paid $$$ to have the AC problems identified, but it was Julio who found them in the course of his assessment of my attic & its insulation needs. He also repaired them for very little extra money. Honestly? I sorta felt he treated me like family. Won't know til hot weather hits whether the insulation will help cool this old house, but I can say this: Julio/Infinity did an outstanding job. They were responsive, on time, pre-prepped to keep my environment very clean (I have bad allergies; they covered & draped to keep particulate to a minimum), cleaned carefully after the insulation, and did it all at a very fair price. GREAT experience.Posted on Google![]()

Not often I run across folks of this caliber. It started with a site visit from Julio. Very thorough discussion. Provided timely product details. On the day of the job, Daniel and his crew came to the site. Daniel supervised them well. The workmanship was great. Daniel is extremely knowledgeable about temperature requirements of the foam product, and ran a test pattern until the result was just right. The finished product is great. They did a walk-through upon completion, and immediately addressed a couple of minor issues. Jobsite preparation was great, too, as well as the cleanup. As a Professional Engineer, and General Contractor for over 45 years, it was a pleasure dealing with this company. I will definitely use them again. Infinity Spray Foam and Julio team was great, efficient, on time, polite, educational and very competitively priced! Do I need to say more? I will. My attic is as cool as my garage and have spent less on my electric bill due to my AC not working as hard. Now that's music to my ears and wallet! I would highly recommend Infinity Spray Foam to anyone wanting to remodel or improve their AC life style here in Austin, TX, because it's only getting hotter...... Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers!
Most metal building owners have practical questions about insulation type, thickness, timing, and what to expect during installation. Here are straightforward answers based on what we see most often with commercial and agricultural metal buildings in Central Texas.
The right choice depends on how your building is used, whether it's climate-controlled, and your energy goals. A warehouse storing temperature-sensitive inventory has different needs than an open-bay shop.
We assess your building's use, existing ventilation, and local climate conditions before recommending a solution. Closed-cell spray foam at 2–3 inches is common for conditioned commercial spaces in Central Texas, while open-cell may work for interior wall cavities where moisture exposure is lower.

The roof deck and underside of the roof panels are the highest priority — this is where heat gain and condensation are most significant in Central Texas. Walls, crawl spaces, and any conditioned interior partitions also benefit from insulation.
Doors, vents, and penetration points should be addressed as part of any complete installation. Leaving gaps in coverage reduces the effectiveness of the insulation across the entire envelope.
Yes. Closed-cell spray foam creates an air barrier that prevents warm, humid air from contacting cold metal surfaces — which is the primary cause of condensation in metal buildings.
Uncontrolled condensation leads to rust, mold, and damage to stored equipment or inventory. Properly applied spray foam significantly reduces moisture-related issues when installed at the correct thickness.
Most standard commercial metal buildings can be completed within one to three days of installation once the project is scheduled. Larger or more complex structures may take longer depending on square footage and accessibility.
We typically schedule an on-site estimate within a few business days of your inquiry. From estimate approval to project completion, the full timeline is usually one to two weeks depending on current scheduling.
We ask that the areas being insulated are clear of stored materials, equipment, and vehicles before our crew arrives. Surfaces should be dry and free of loose debris, grease, or rust scale that would prevent proper adhesion.
We'll walk through specific prep requirements during the estimate. If your building has existing insulation that needs to be removed first, we'll identify that during the site visit so there are no surprises on installation day.
